A peace of my heart: A letter to my fellow Queens

What if I told you that the Queen you have been working so hard to become is already you? Well, it’s true. She is you. What you have been searching frantically for has lied within you the entire time. There was never a need for you to convince people that you are a kind, by-the-book, smart, free-spirited person. No. There also wasn’t a need for you to deny the fact that you’re a sensitive, passive, and all over the place. Nope. There is no need to act like you don’t care, when you do. When we try to defend ourselves against ourselves it confuses the heart. It will build love barriers around your heart, making it hard to let love in or out. Listen, we have to accept that fact that we are love and love is us. We are sheep in a field of wolves. Lauryn Hill asked a great question, why be a hard rock when you really are a gem? Don’t confuse your meekness with weakness. You know you’re strong. You also know that you’re a woman, not a man. I don’t say that to set limitations on us. I said it to emphasize the fact that we are our own, unique species.

So, in acceptance to all of this… You are The Queen you have been searching for. Every beautiful thing you that you desire to be is you. Own it!
