I had just returned from a two week impromptu trip from Boston, quit my second job, and was just dealing with some realities that were just plain-out overwhelming. I was having the hardest time falling asleep due to my mind being drenched with 'what if's' and 'why comes.' Luckily, I woke up the next morning to the presence of peace. I took full advantage and stayed cooped up in my house the entire day reading and journaling. Perfect mood to pull out my old faithful, Letters to My Daughter by Maya Angelou.
Letter to My Daughter is a beautiful collection of 28 short essays and poems of invaluable lessons on life and love. I don't just read this book, I study it. Excuse my dramaticness, but I think this book should be a requirement for everyone, both women and men. It is the perfect gift and a super easy read! I trust every word of it. Its hard for me to even explain its' power. So, if you want to grow, learn lessons of kindness, be inspired, feel united, and gain a better understanding of the human heart... read it!
I love you to peace.
